We just finished two different retro double-glazing jobs, and both turned out great. The first one was an old villa with double-hung windows that had the old rope and weight system. The client wanted to keep the original wooden frames and put the double-glazing inside them. The second project had more modern double-hung windows with spiral balances. Since replacing those balances could be tricky and expensive, we decided to take out the old wooden sashes and put in new double-glazed aluminum windows instead.
